Readers may recall that in early July this year we were involved alongside GMP and other search assets in the search for a missing young man, Christopher Brahney, who had attended the Stone Roses Concert at Heaton Park on the evening of Friday 29th June 2012, and subsequently went missing. (Please see our Incident Reports 48/49 dated Monday 2nd July and Tuesday 3rd July)
Despite a very intensive search effort, and what can only be described as a massive social media and press / TV campaign, 22 year old Christopher Brahney was not found, until some days later when his body was very sadly recovered from the Manchester Ship Canal.
Today we have received from S.J.M. Concerts of St Matthews, Liverpool Road, Manchester, M3 4NQ, the concert organisers, a very kind £200.00 donation; “Thank you for your work following the Heaton Park concert in June.”
We understand through GMP, that S.J.M. Concerts have very kindly made a similar donation to our colleagues at Rossendale and Pendle MRT and Oldham MRT, who also attended the very comprehensive voluntary SAR team search effort alongside GMP resources, centred upon Heaton Park and Bowlee Park, Middleton.
The whole team membership would like to express its thanks to S.J.M. Concerts for their sincere kindness in making this donation.
