Kind letter of thanks received from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service

On Sunday 7th October 2012, the team took part in a major exercise organised by GMFRS on the River Irwell in Salford (Please see illustrated website report dated the same)

Today our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE received the following kind letter from GMFRS Borough Manager, Salford Borough, Paul Petrykowski;

“Dear Garry and Team, I would like to extend my appreciation and thanks to you and members of Bolton Mountain Rescue Team, for giving up your spare time to assist with GMFRS Salford Borough’s large scale exercise recently. The organising Officer, Mark Turner, informs me that you were all extremely helpful, and had it not been for your assistance on the day, the exercise would not have been such a success.”

“I believe that good working relationships between partner agencies are essential in resolving the difficult incidents we sometimes attend, and exercises like this are a great way of us building those relationships.”

“I look forward to working with you again, many thanks and kind regards, Paul Petrykowski, Borough Manager, Salford Borough, GMFRS.”

The Bolton Mountain Rescue Team places a great deal of emphasis on its excellent relationship with GMFRS, as it similarly does with our friends in the Police and Ambulance services, and is committed to attending joint training opportunities to maintain and improve multi agency operational working and our close liaison and mutual awareness of each other.
