Very kind donations received in memory of the late Mr Alan Thompson
On the very wintry evening of Saturday 23rd March 2013, we were called to Foxholes Road, Horwich, to assist an NWAS crew transport an elderly man from his house to an Emergency Ambulance, which due to deep snow and very icy road conditions could not access the mans house. (Please see Incident Report 45/2013 dated the same)
Within our report of this incident we made mention of the very kind comments received shortly after this incident, from Mrs Deborah Peaty and Mrs Christine Coleman, the daughters of the man involved, thanking the team for their help.
Very sadly we learnt that on 11th April 2013, the man involved, Mr Alan Roy Thompson, aged 92 years, passed away in Hospital, and our sincere condolences were expressed to the family of the late Mr Thompson.
A funeral service for the late Mr Alan Roy Thompson was held on Friday 19th April 2013, at Horwich Parish Church, prior to internment at Ridgmont Cemetery, Horwich.
At the time it was requested that donations be made in Mr Thompson’s memory to Horwich Visiting Service or Bolton Mountain Rescue Team.
On Tuesday 7th May 2013 we reported within our website that via the Charities Aid Foundation, we had received a very kind and thoughtful £47.49p donation from Mrs Christine Coleman of Watford, Hertfordshire, with regards to our involvement in helping her late father – “With grateful thanks from the family of Alan Thompson.”
Today we have received via The Livesey Funeral Service, a large number of donations all very kindly and thoughtfully made in the memory of Mr Thompson, totalling £220.00 to the Bolton Mountain Rescue Team.
The entire Bolton MRT membership wishes to extend its sincere thanks to all those kind people who made donations to the Bolton MRT in memory of the late Mr Alan Roy Thompson.
