Directly related to incident 79/2013 which was conducted in the early hours of the morning, at 08:36 today our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE was contacted by Lancashire Constabulary, regards the team lending assistance to the required daylight investigation of this fatal incident.
With team members already gathering at our Ladybridge Hall Base/HQ to depart for the City Airport event, two team members were despatched in Team Land Rover BM3 to give their assistance.
Chris Greenhalgh and John Dickinson met with two Detective Officers and a CSI Officer, at the junction of Greens Arms Road and the A666 at 10:05.
Here the three Officers were transported in our BM3 Land Rover along the Cadshaw track (A locked access track) to the scene of the incident which occured in the early hours of this morning.
The campsite of the persons involved in incident 81/2013 was located, alongside the continuing evidence gathering of how the man involved in the incident came to fall over the edge of Yarnsdale Delf Quarry, sustaining fatal injuries.
Officers were escorted by our two members to the top of the quarry, and to other relevant locations in the area.
By 11:59 their investigations on scene were completed, and the three Lancashire Constabulary Officers were transported back along the track to their waiting vehicle on the A666.
All departed the scene at 12:15.
