Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

9th August 2013

We are very pleased to share the following communication with all our readers received by our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE today from GMFRS Ben Levy, the organiser of yesterdays very successful Greater Manchester Emergency Services Third Annual Open Day at the Trafford Centre, Manchester;

“Colleagues and friends, Yesterday, our third Emergency Services Open Day proved a resounding success. Once again, exceptional support from the management and security staff at the Trafford Centre allowed us to put on a show the size of which I do not believe is replicated in many other venues. Today we had in attendance approximately 165 emergency service vehicles, stalls, displays and demonstrations, supported by some 230 personnel. Many of these were volunteers, some of whom travelled a long way to be with us. Colleagues at the Trafford Centre have suggested a reasonable figure for the number of visitors is in the region of 10,000.

Please may I express thanks on behalf of us all to the Bolton Mountain Rescue Team and Salvation Army who kept us refreshed throughout the day.

Finally, another personal thanks from me to all those who supported and attended the event. I spoke to many visitors, all without exception were having a great time built on the enthusiasm and professionalism of all those who made the day work.

Please will you ensure a copy of this email is passed to all your colleagues who attended.

Who’s up for 999 Day 2014?

Kind regards and again, many personal thanks,
Ben Levy,
Station Manager,
Operational Assurance,
Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service.”
