Incident 85/2014 – trailing search dog called to south Cumbria

At circa 15.15hrs this afternoon, our Mountain Rescue Trailing Search Dog Handler Steve Nelson, was contacted for assistance with a search for a missing male in the South Cumbria area.

Setting off for the Millom area at 16.00hrs with Trailing Search Dog Boris, accompanied as usual by Bolton MRT and fellow SARDA Wales member Elaine Gilliland, who acts as Steve’s navigator, they arrived at the Search RVP of Duddon and Furness MRTs Base / HQ to be stood down, with the news that the missing person had been located by a colleague Mountain Rescue Search Dog Team.

Steve, Elaine and Boris arrived back home at 20.30hrs.

We understand the search also involved resources from Cumbria Constabulary, Duddon and Furness MRT, and Lake District Search Dogs.
