Visit by team to evening meeting of Christ Church Heaton, Mothers Union and Church Men’s Group (Combined), Bolton
Tonight, whilst most team members were at our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ for our regular Wednesday night training meeting, others were busy visiting the members of Christ Church, Heaton, Mothers Union and Church Men’s Group (Combined) to give a presentation on the work of the team.
Team Call Out list members Equipment Officer – Water, Dave Cook, John Dickinson and Michael Eddleston took along our Land Rover Defender Mountain Rescue Ambulance Call Sign Bolton Mobile 4 for this evenings visit, to the meeting venue of Christ Church Heaton Church Hall, Markland Hill, Bolton.
The trio were met by organisers Caroline Rodden and Ruth Morley, and after some “intensive persuasion” Ruth kindly “volunteered” to take part in a practical demonstration later in the evening.
The Members of Christ Church present (approximately 50) were treated to a presentation on the work of the team and a demonstration of the search and rescue equipment carried on our Land Rover – including the use of a Vacuum Mattress where Ruth found herself thoroughly immobilised.
At the end of their visit the three team members were very kindly presented with an incredible donation of £140.50p.
Dave, John and Michael on behalf of all the Bolton MRT membership wish to extend their fullest thanks to all the members of Christ Church for their very generous and thoughtful support of the team.
