Team attends regional MPSRO quarterly meeting this evening
This evening two team representatives attended the quarterly meeting of our regional representative mountain rescue organisation, namely the MPSRO (Mid Pennine Search and Rescue Organisation)
Held at the usual and long established venue of Rossendale and Pendle MRTs Base / Headquarters on Clegg Street, Haslingden, the meeting attracted Team Officers and interested members from all the constituent member teams of the MPSRO; namely Bolton MRT, Bowland Pennine MRT, Calder Valley SRT, Holme Valley MRT, Rossendale and Pendle MRT, with CRO tending their apologies.
Attending from our team were our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE, (Who has been attending these meetings regularly since circa 1984/5!) and Elaine Gilliland in her capacity as MPSRO Training Officer and MPSRO representative to the MREW Training Sub Committee.
The meeting took place under the Chairmanship of Keith Gillies (BPMRT and MREW Secretary)
A full agenda took place, with many developments and directions for national mountain rescue discussed, alongside the more usual issues of training, team activities and call outs of note, communications and liaison with others.
The next MPSRO meeting is scheduled for Thursday 5th February 2015 at the same venue, to which an open invitation is made to any interested team members from all the MRTs that make up the MPSRO, alongside the usual attendees of Team and MPSRO Officers who normally attend.
