Team Land Rover Defender Mountain Rescue Ambulance on display today at the EPIC Event at Egerton Park, Egerton
Late this morning, our Equipment Officer – Ropes and Stretchers Nigel Booth attended with team Land Rover Defender Mountain Rescue Ambulance, call sign ‘Bolton Mobile 1,’ the EPIC Event being held at Egerton Park, Egerton.
Nigel stayed until mid afternoon, with our Land Rover attracting much interest.
This is Nigel’s own account of today;
“If you were anywhere near Egerton Park Bolton today then you should have been at the annual EPIC Fun Day (organised by the Egerton Park Improvement Committee and enabled by the sponsorship of Portman Doors Ltd).
The day began early for all the EPIC team, setting up stalls and marshalling into position all the people supporting the event.
You always need someone on the microphone and this was facilitated by Bolton FM, I thought I saw the mayor there but I wasn’t really sure!!!
People started arriving at 11am and things got off to a start with a Road Traffic Collision demonstration by the Fire Service which included the extrication of a ‘live volunteer’!!!!!
As well as the RTC there was an opportunity to go up to nearly 100 feet in the Fire Service hydraulic platform vehicle.
Others enjoyed dancing and visiting the many other stalls that were set up.
This was a perfect opportunity for friends and families to meet up and chat among themselves and meet with other volunteers from the Fire Service, Bolton Mountain Rescue Team and others.
Well done everyone.
Some of us had to leave early but I believe the event went on into the evening!!!!”
