This evening three members of the team travelled to Hebden Bridge to enjoy a evening at the Picture House cinema to enjoy an evening premier of mountaineering films, raising funds for Calder Valley Search & Rescue Team.
The cinema was filled to capacity with 480 people attending the cinema and supporting Calder Valley SRT.
Three films were shown:
Wild Atlantic: a short film about climbing in Donegal.
Operation Moffat: a new film featuring a rare interview with unassuming, but inspirational, climber and author, Gwen Moffat, who in 1953 became the first female British guide.
The Citadel: Film maker Alistair Lee records Matt Helliker and Jon Braceys attempt on The Citadel in the Neacola mountain range in Alaska.
The evening was presented by Alistair Lee, introducing the three films, with Claire Carter, co-Director and co-Producer of Operation Moffat, and Matt Helliker, star of The Citadel.
Following the films was a Questions and Answers session with both Alistair Lee and Matt Helliker, followed by a raffle with a number of mountaineering related prizes.
Anybody interested in seeing these films, they are now heading out on tour. Full details can be found at http://www.britrockfilmtour.com
We would like to thank Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team for organising an enjoyable evening and hope it proved to be a successful fundraiser.
