Our thoughts and condolences are with the Royal Family following the sad news of the death of His Royal Highness Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. Many of our members were inspired to enjoy the outdoors through the DofE Award. The picture shows members meeting the Duke in 1979. pic.twitter.com/SSTC30CcPB
At 4.56pm yesterday we were requested by NWAS to assist with a 22yo male who had fallen at Tiger’s Clough. The team treated him with pain relief & placed a vacuum splint around the injured ankle, then stretchered him to the waiting ambulance. We wish him a speedy recovery. pic.twitter.com/ZEbrt4vaLT
1/2 From all of us at BMRT we would just like to thank every one of you that donated to us this weekend. It was a hard decision for us not to do our usual Easter meet and great around Rivington but for the safety of our team members, we decided against it. pic.twitter.com/xkNOo8equX
It's been a busy start to 2021 for the team. Three months in & we are already on our way to more callouts than we had last year. If you can support us in our work, please feel free to donate via boltonmrt.enthuse.com/#!/ #BoltonMRT #Volunteers #Donate #Rescues #BeenBusy pic.twitter.com/KhDxLT92N8
1/ Today is usually a busy and important day for the team. With so many people visiting the Rivington area in particular, we would usually have our displays set up around the area to help educate people about outdoor safety. pic.twitter.com/0iKNZaqWU1
Thank you to everyone who nominated us for these awards and huge congratulations to Ricky Lomax for winning the Emergency Service Award 🥳 #BoltonNewsLockdownHeroes twitter.com/theboltonnews/…

❓ Did you know that moorland and wildfires can be started in a number of ways? Sadly, many are started deliberately, however, some can break out by people being careless with barbecues, campfires or not disposing of cigarettes properly 🔥 pic.twitter.com/WDHdEHFcXA
We appreciate this encouraging message of support from our colleagues at NWAS twitter.com/NWAmbulance/st…

Visit to our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ by the husband and daughters of the Late Mrs Joan Charles
On Wednesday 27th May 2015, our regular readers will recall our report with sadness, that following a long illness, Mrs Joan Charles, passed away on Friday 10th April, aged 71 years.
Joan, along with her husband Len – who survives Joan, were both members of our Support Group in the late 1980s and in to the 1990s, and continued to lend their full support to the team up to current times.
The full and sincere condolences of the team were expressed at the time to Joan’s family, including her husband Len, daughter and current serving team member Gill Leigh, her husband and former team member and ex Deputy Team Leader Ian Leigh, Joan and Len’s other daughter Kath, and other family members, friends and colleagues.
Very kindly and thoughtfully in support of the team, donations in lieu of flowers at Joan’s funeral of Monday 20th April 2015, were requested to Bolton MRT to honour the memory of Joan.
On 2nd May 2015, we received a very thoughtful £20.00 donation from Mr Michael Lee and Mrs Anne Lee of Horwich, in memory of Joan Charles.
On Wednesday 27th May 2015, we announced that via Howarth’s Funeral Service, we had received a further thirty seven very thoughtful and sincere cash and cheque donations, totalling an amazing £905.00, which gave a grand total of £925.00 donated in Joan’s memory.
These donations all served to truly reflect how Joan’s wonderful life had been honoured by her family and many friends and colleagues in this thoughtful and very kind manner.
We decided to honour Joan’s support and contribution to Bolton Mountain Rescue Team by erecting a plaque dedicated to her memory in our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ.
This evening at 19.20hrs, Mr Len Charles, in the company of his daughters Kath, and serving current team Call Out list member Gill Leigh, visited our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ to view the plaque dedicated to the memory of his wife.
Please see website ‘News’ reports of Sunday 2nd November, Sunday 9th November and Wednesday 10th December, all 2014, at which the team took part in a little surprise for Joan and Len at their Golden Wedding Anniversary celebrations, which also raised a considerable donation to the work of the Bolton MRT, Tuesday 14th April, Monday 20th April, Saturday 2nd May and Wednesday 27th May 2015.
