Very kind letter of thanks received from GMP following our involvement in Incident 20 –2016, Cox Green Quarry, Egerton, Bolton
Late yesterday evening, our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE has received a very kind email of thanks from Greater Manchester Police, Missing Person Search Manager Vicky McGuigan, following our involvement in Incident 20 – 2016, at Cox Green Quarry, Egerton, of Sunday 31st January 2016. (Please see incident report dated the same)
I would like to express my thanks to yourself and your team for your assistance on Sunday 31st January 2016.
The man was reported missing by his wife after not returning home that evening after leaving his home address at 10:00am in the morning.
Divisional Officers located the vehicle belonging to the man on Cox Green Road, Bolton opposite a quarry.
Due to the dangerous terrain (Quarry), and lack of daylight it was clear from the start that I would need to request your assistance.
I was very impressed with the communication from yourselves prior to attending at the RVP.
The teams arrival at the RVP was prompt and everyone was very enthusiastic and professional.
Your experience and specialist skills were imperative to the search and unfortunate subsequent body recovery.
I have highlighted this search assistance to my Senior Officer expressing how impressed I was with your team and the actions taken.
Please could you pass on my sincere thanks to your team for their attendance and search activity that evening.
I look forward to working with you all again in the near future.
Thanks again, Vicky.
