Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

24th February 2005

All week our region has had snow flurries, with nothing on the scale of snowfalls elsewhere in the country. However, the threat of a heavy snowfall is a but a cloud away. Just before 4AM this morning, our Team Leader was contacted by GMAS regarding assistance to an ambulance, the call was very quickly passed through our colleagues in RPMRT, the incident being in their area. At 07:45 our Team Leader was again contacted by GMAS to discuss standby cover in view of a forecasted heavy snowfall (which, apart from the tops of our moors, never materialised). Discussions of a similar nature took place late afternoon between our T.L and GMAS and LAS control rooms following reports of further bad weather, again nothing happened.
