At 15:40, GMAS called out the team to assist with a 25 year old male, with a reported fractured ankle, the location being Wardley Wood on the Worsley / Swinton boundary. At 15:53 the team was stood down, with one Landrover Ambulance and a large number of team members already en route to the incident. The GMAS crew were able to evacuate the man with their own resources.

Assembling at 10:00, at Leigh Community Sixth Form College, the initial team search response met up with GMP Officers for a full search briefing, whilst our Control and Catering Trailers were set up.
Throughout the day, 29 Bolton team members and Search Dog Chi, worked alongside GMP Officers, including Dog Units, TAU, Divisional and Traffic units and three Tactical Aid Units, as the search area expanded away from the initial search areas around the College, out to Pennington Flash Country Park and Plank Lane Tip.
Joining the search effort in the afternoon was the GMP Air Support Unit helicopter, which landed at the Search Control, for a search area briefing.
The full days search was inconclusive, being scaled down at nightfall. ( Police enquires continue regards this missing person )

A realtivly quiet & calm Search Control area, for a change..

At 22:05, our Team Leader was contacted by a GMP Missing Person Search Manager, regards the teams assistance being required the next day, in the search for a missing young man in the Leigh area of Wigan. ( there being specific search areas involved ).
Arrangements were then made by our Team Leader in consultation with our Deputy Leader, and other team members, to mobilise the team and pre arrange catering, etc. for the following mornings search.

At 19:25, Lancon requested the urgent assistance of the team with regards to a search for a missing 35 year old woman, whose car had been found at Rivington. A large scale search involving 39 team members, search dog Chi, and large police resources, including dogs, traffic, and the police helicopter, was carried on into the early hours of the following day, when news was received at 03:17 hours that the woman had been admitted to Royal Bolton Hospital. (An ambulance was called for the woman when she was found some miles from the search area, on the outskirts of Bolton, at 02:32). In all, the team and police were involved for nearly 9 continuous hours.

A team member was first on scene at a moorland RTA involving a motorcycle and a car. He called for the assistance of team members (on exercise nearby), and at the same time LAS also requested the teams’ assistance. The motorcyclist had sustained arm injuries, and the occupants of the car were unharmed. Helimed 08, two LAS ambulances and Lancashire Constabulary were also involved.
